Winslow Crocker House 250 Route 6A Yarmouth Port June 1 - Oct 15: Open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. second and 4th Saturdays of the month. Built around 1780 by Winslow Crocker, a trader and land speculator in West Barnstable, was moved to its current location in 1936 by Mary Thacher, an antiques collector. Rooms are filled with Mary Thacher’s collection of furniture, including Jacobean, William and Mary, Queen Anne, and Chippendale styles. Owned and operated by Historic New England. Private group tours available by appointment. $5, seniors $4, students and children $3, Yarmouth residents free with ID.
Capt Bangs Hallet House Museum 11 Strawberry Lane, overlooking village common on Rte 6A Yarmouth Port The house is open on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, June 16 through October 8, with tours at 1, 2 & 3 p.m. Admission: $5.00 for adults. FREE to all HSOY members, Yarmouth residents and children. Fully furnished sea captain’s home with maritime exhibits, antique furniture, costumes, artwork and Chinese export porcelain. Gain an intimate glance into 19th-century family life with the captain’s study. The 18th-century cellar kitchen features an extensive collection of early cooking, lighting and household items. Special exhibit of 17th to 19th century pewter from private collection, on display through July 15. Groups welcome by special arrangement.
Edward Gorey House 8 Strawberry Lane, off Route 6A Yarmouth Port April through December, April 15 - July 2 Hours: Thu/Fri/Sat: 11 AM-4PM, SUN 12-4 PM July 5 - October 8 WED/THU/FRI/SAT: 11 AM - 4 PM SUN: 12-4 PM. October 13 - December 31 FRI/SAT: 11 AM-4 PM SUN 12 - 4 PM. Previously owned and lived in by the late artist, author, playwright and set and costume designer Edward Gorey, the house celebrates and preserves his life and work, and honors Gorey’s passion and concern for animals. Admission: Adults: $8. Students & Seniors (65+): $5. Children 6-12 years old: $2. Children under 6 are free.
